Rockdale’s powerlifting teams traveled to Smithville last week and competed with over 300 other athletes.
Lady Tigers Caressa San Miguel finished fifth in the 148 weight class, Shelly Segovia finished fourth in the 220 weight class, Ashley Reyes finished second in the 242 weight class and Averi Borrero was fifth in her weight class of 242. Tiger Ragan Roberts came in second in the 242 weight class.
Former Lady Tiger and Coach Morgan Laughlin said, “This was a big meet, so finishing in the top five was a big deal.”
COMING UP— These lifters will now go to Aggieland on Saturday, and then regionals will take place early next month. Several of our team members should qualify.
