The Tiger soccer team split their games last week.
GIDDINGS— Giddings came to town last Tuesday and the game finished in a tie but the Blue and Gold won in the penalty shoot out, 4-3.
The goal scored in this game was by Jose Tenorio with an assist by Wilmer Sorto. Star goalkeeper Riley Spears had a big save that helped win this game.
LaGRANGE— Later in the week, the Tigers traveled to LaGrange to take on the Leopards and this game ended in a loss. The final was 1-0.
The Big Blue soccer team is now 3-2 in district and 12-4-2 for the season.
COMING UP— The Tigers were to face Manor Tech at home on Tuesday, before Caldwell comes to town on Friday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
Lady Tigers
The Lady Tigers continue to struggle and are currently 0-4 in district play. They lost both of their games last week.
GIDDINGS— The Giddings Buffaloes who are 6-0 and in first place came to town on Tuesday and kept our team on the run for four quarters. The final was Giddings 7, Rockdale 0.
LaGRANGE— On Friday, the Lady Tigers traveled to LaGrange to take on the 2-3 Leopards and lost 0-1.
COMING UP— This week, the Lady Tigers’ schedule includes two home games against Manor N ew T ech a nd C aldwell. Tuesday’s game was to be against Manor New Tech and Friday’s 7:30 p.m. game is against Caldwell.
Soccer is a real winter sport but fill up the Yeti with some hot coffee and bring a blanket and enjoy watching these young women play, they have an exciting team, are well coached and work hard. Come on Tiger Nation!
