The Rockdale Tigers soccer team hosted a warm-up game against Burnet last week and they came out on top, 3-1.
The Tigers continue to show they can compete at a high level. The 4A Bulldogs are the third-seeded team in their district and the scheduling of this game was genius on the part of former Tiger and head boys’ soccer coach Gilberto Rodriguez.
“This game gives us a greater understanding on what we need to do Tuesday against Lorena,” said Coach Rodriguez.
“We have three more practices to get ready,” he added. “We are very excited.”
Tiger Daniel Castillo had two goals in the game and Kevin Valdivia had one—assists were by Wilmer Sorto and Jose Orellana.
COMING UP— In the first playoff game of their postseason run, the Tigers were to travel to Lorena to take on the Leopards Tuesday.
