The Rockdale Tiger boys track team participated in the Lexington Eagle Relays last week with these individual student athletes showing off the blue and gold:
Varsity
• The 4x400 relay team of Montelongo, Stephens, Henderson and Gerren placed first.
• De’Andre Stephens placed first in the triple jump and second in the high jump.
• Jesse Montelongo placed second in the 400m.
• Austin Caldwell placed third in the 1600m and the 3200m.
Junior varsity
The sub-varsity squad placed third overall as a team with the following results:
• The 4x100 and 4x200 relay team of Wilson, O’Bryant, Amuary and Sheppard placed first in both events.
• The 4x400 relay team of Wlson, O’Bryant, Tovar and Sheppard placed second.
• Emilano Tovar placed first in the 400m.
• Rachaid Wilson placed second in the long jump.
• Charles Murphy placed second in the high jump.
Lady Tigers
The Rockdale Lady Tigers continue to set personal records as the track and field season progresses.
Rockdale traveled to Lexington last week to compete in the Lexington Relays.
Varsity
Athletes doing their personal
bests were:
• Jernee Mitchell in shot put and discus.
• Jayla Gonzalez, shot put.
• Ti’Niyah Miles placed first in shot put.
• Trinity Hurd was second in long jump and third in triple jump.
• Millie Cervantes placed third in the 800m.
Junior varsity
Sub-varsity Lady Tigers like Shyra Sheppard are showing up and showing off. Sheppard placed first at the recent Lexington Eagle Relays in the 100m, 200m and the long jump. Sheppard also placed third in the high jump.
• The 4x400 relay team of Matula, Matula, Simonton and Stewart placed second.
• The 4x200 relay team of Matula, Matula, Shelander and Baker placed third.
