Rockdale’s final chance to qualify for the Texas State 7-on-7 Championships will be Saturday in Brock.
The team competed in the Gatesville qualifying tournament last Thursday and although they went 2-1, did not advance out of pool play.
Rockdale last competed in the state-qualifying tournament in 2017 and has made it to state eight times since 2007.
GIDDINGS – Last week, the Rockdale 7-on-7 squad went 5-0 in league play at Giddings High School.
“This is the most dominating night of seven-on-seven I’ve ever seen from a Rockdale team,” said Coach Eric Robinson.
In the first game, they defeated Lexington 3-0 and took down Giddings 2-1 in the next game. In the third, they shut out La Grange 3-0, and beat Lexington and Giddings both 2-1.
