Rockdale High School’s junior varsity football team suffered their first loss of the season Thursday, when they fell on the road to neighbor Lexington, 36-0.
Both teams were tied at zero after the first quarter, but the Eagles took control in the second, scoring 22 unanswered points. LHS score twice more in the third, winning the game, 36-0.
According to coach Ethan Brinkley, standouts on offense were Radyn Hamilton and David Penney. Luis Lepe and Carlos Martinez were defensive standouts.
The 1-1 Tigers return home this Thursday, hosting the West Trojans.
Kick-off at Tiger Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
RJH— Rockdale Junior High heads to Madisonville this week. The combined “B” team plays at 4:30 p.m. before the seventh grade “A” team plays at 5:30.
The eighth grade “A” team is scheduled to play at 7.
