The Rockdale Lady Tigers varsity volleyball team is still in a slump. They lost twice last week in front of home crowds.
On Sept. 20, they were competitive but lost to a substantial Thrall Tigerette team in three sets—1325, 17-25, 20-25.
Then on Friday, Sept. 27, the Blue & Gold were competitive again but ultimately came up short against Rogers in four sets— 19-25, 22-25, 25-21 and 22-25.
COMING UP— The Lady Tigers varsity team is currently 0-4 in district play and had Cameron on the road on Tuesday and then travels to Franklin at 4:30 p.m. Friday “We are in a tough district with two state-ranked teams with tons of talented kids,” said former Lady Tiger and current Head Volleyball Coach Morgan Laughlin.
“We are, however, evenly matched with Cameron and it should be a good game.”
Sub-varsity
Rockdale JV lost against Thrall last week in close games—25-27, 20-25. The Lady Tiger freshmen came up short as well—18-25, 23-25.
Later in the week they both faced Rogers and the freshman squad won, 21-25, 25-12, 25-10. The JV lost 12-25, 19-25.
