Saturday the Rockdale High School powerlifting teams traveled to the Aggieland Showdown Powerlifting Meet in College Station.
The team now has six Lady Tigers that will qualify for regionals—Elizabeth Perry, Caressa San Miguel, Shelly Segovia, JaLinda Beard, Averi Borrero and Ashley Reyes.
Tiger Dylan Jones is expected to be a regional qualifier after his performance on Saturday.
In College Station, individuals that placed in their weight class were: Lady Tigers Caressa San Miguel, fifth place; Shelly Segovia, sixth; Ashley Reyes, third; and Averi Borrero, sixth.
Tigers placing in their weight classes were: Ragan Roberts, third; Ethan Stanley, fif th; Dylan Jones, fourth.
In addition, Jones tied the school deadlift record set by Dalton Kurz in 2013 with a deadlift of 500 pounds.
