Tigers
The Rockdale Tiger soccer team traveled last week to play in the Madisonville Tournament and finished up with a 3-2 record. The Tigers finished in second place after losing in the final against Madisonville. The final score in the championship game was Madisonville 3, Rockdale 0.
Earlier in the tournament the Tigers faced off against the Livingston Lions and won 2-1. The Tigers beat Canyon Lake out of Fischer 3-0, Hearne 5-0 and lost to Madisonville 6-0. Both of the Tiger losses were against the Madisonville Mustangs.
NEXT UP— The varsity Tigers were to face off against Jarrell on Tuesday at Tiger Field before hosting their own tournament on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Lady Tigers
The Lady Tigers hosted their first ever soccer tournament at Tiger Field last week. They played hard in this Blue & Gold Cup but finished in fourth place.
In their first game of the tournament the Lady Tigers tied Rice 1-1. They faced Luling in their second game and got a win, 1-0. They went on to suffer two more losses—one against Hempstead 1-0 and in their second game against Rice they also lost 1-0.
Playing against Hempstead for third place was too much for the Lady Tigers and the Lady Bobcats beat Rockdale 1-0.
NEXT UP— The Lady Tigers were to travel to Jarrell this week to take on the Lady Cougars and then go across the river to play in the Cameron tournament on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
