The Tiger basketball program is off to a slow start as they have begun their season with two losses.
Before Thanksgiving break, the Tigers kicked off their season against the Milano Eagles. The Tigers were defeated 80-42. Chris Perez and Braden Thomas tied to lead the team in points with 12. Other scorers included: Adrian Rubio 4, Ivan Bonner 4, Tristan Jackson 2, Andrew Hicks 2 and Jake Hasselbach 2.
On Tuesday, RHS faced off against the Smithville Tigers. Rockdale fought hard but came up short losing 52-46. Thomas led the team in scoring with 19 points. Other scorers included: Perez 8, Robert Owens 7, Bonner 5, Anthony Dansby 4 and Rubio 2.
“We need to start maintaining our concentration throughout the whole game,” RHS Head Coach Marcus McNeil said.
“It a discipline that we must instill in the kids. But they have to buy into it. We have to take care of the ball better and be way more aggressive getting rebounds. I still have high hopes for this season.”
The Tigers will look to turn things around as they prepare to face the Meyer Ravens on Friday in Meyer.
