Over the weekend, Rockdale High School’s Golden Girls competed in San Antonio at Danceline USA’s National Dance/Drill Team Championships.
While in Bexar County, the team earned Danceline National Sweepstakes, which means the judges gave them scores of 95 or above on all of their performances. The Golden Girls also earned second place for their prop routine and third place for their open routine.
Golden Girls coach Tasha San Migel also praised her team and their hard work.
“These girls have persevered through a challenging year and most of these girls haven’t danced a day in their life until they joined this team,” San Migel said. “They put in the work and it shows.”
“They may not have won an overall championship but I am beyond proud of their accomplishments this season and I can’t wait to see what next season will hold,” she added.
