Thorndale’s Branson McCoy finished seventh in the Class 2A 100-meter dash. This was the Bulldog senior’s second straight trip to state.

Tiger freshman Timothy Grice earned silver in the Class 3A 200-meter dash with a time of 21.26, breaking his own personal record. The only person to beat Grice was Spearman’s Brenen Thompson, who will play football for the University of Texas next year.

THS senior Stryker Leschber placed eighth in the discus in his first state trip. Leschber is a Columbia University football commit.

Cameron’s Yierra Flemings won gold in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400, which she won for the second straight year. The Yoe High sophomore also won bronze in the triple jump and the 4x200-meter relay.

Lexington’s Daylon Washington began the day with a gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles and took home silver in the 300-meter hurdles. Washington, an LHS junior, never lost either race at district, area or regionals this season.

Thrall’s Avery Koonce runs in the 100-meter dash of the Class 2A championship Friday, where she placed seventh. This was the Tigerette sophomore’s second straight trip to Austin after qualifying last year as a freshman.

Hearne’s Jabari Dunn, who is coached by former Rockdale coach Lewis Edmonson, earned bronze in the 200-meter dash and fifth in the 400.
