Two brothers battled one another for the top spot in the Rockdale Open youth tournament.
Ethan Schramm beat twin brother Garrett in a 9-7 match to win first place.
“Their Mom contacted Shelly(Sanders) and told her that they really wanted to play each other in the Rockdale Open even though we didn’t have players for a bracket,” said Sparky Thomason, a tourney organizer. “So we went up to the courts, watched them play and even had a medal ceremony afterwards.”
Both boys are Thorndale ISD students and were attendees of the Rockdale Summer Tennis Camp earlier this month.
