On Wednesday afternoon, Thorndale’s Bulldog Gymnasium was host to National Signing Day for THS senior softball players Reagyn Trahan, Kelsey Kovar and Emilee Baker. Lady Dog head coach Lance Betak spoke before they officially signed with their respective schools describing his journey coaching the three signees.
Betak described meeting Trahan before her time in Thorndale as a middle school student in Liberty Hill, watching Kovar transform into the player she’s become after spending much of her days growing up in Thorndale and Baker and her family instantly embracing their new hometown after moving to Thorndale her freshman year.
The THS coach also pointed out that while all three student athletes were talented, getting the opportunity to play collegiate softball was the result of hard work and dedication from them, their families and the people that helped them all along the way.
