With the flick of a pen, Rockdale’s Ty Mayberry (pictured below) and Anthony Dansby (above) were officially committed to their future colleges with hopes of furthering their studies and playing football at the next level.

Mayberry, a four-year varsity player that first stepped on the scene during the 2017 state championship run, signed his letter of intent to take his talents out west to play at the University of Texas-Permian Basin.

He said that as soon as he took a visit to the Odessa school that he wanted to go there and gave credit to recruiting coordinator Ryan Montalvo for guiding him along the way.

In addition to suiting up for the Falcons, the 2020 academic all-district pick also plans to study engineering at UTPB.

Dansby, who didn’t play varsity until his junior season, signed his letter of intent to suit up for Blinn College next season.

He chose the Brenham school for it’s well-known reputation of getting players scholarships at universities with the best football programs in the country.

Dansby, who plans to major in nursing, said he owes a lot of credit to his parents and his three siblings Koneiko, Excell and Ed for their encouragement while deciding which school was the best fit going forward.
