Saturday five members of the Thorndale High School girls powerlifting team will travel to Academy High School for the Region 2 Regional Powerlifting Meet.
Lifting will begin at 8:30 a.m.
The girls are: Landri Martinka in the 105 weight class, who lifted for a total of 590 pounds; Makaelyn Vivas, 114, total of 545; Natalie Deary, 220, total of 765; Vickie Sauceda, 259, total of 600 and Layla Rodriquez, 198, total of 660.
In order to qualify for this meet, the girls finished the season ranked in the top twelve of the entire region (Class 1A-3A).
The top two finishers in each division qualify for the regional meet.
Mason Liles will compete at the Region 2 meet in West on Saturday, March 14 for the boys team. Lifting is set for 8:30 a.m.
