Dinner honors football team
Blade Bassler, RHS quarterback, safety, kicker and punter, will be the keynote speaker at the Masonic Lodge dinner honoring the 2018 Rockdale High School football program, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Patterson Community Center.
Bassler was inducted into the 2017 Rockdale Athletic Hall of Honor. RHS Head football Coach Jeff Miller will address the crowd.

Golf scramble signup
Spots are still available for the 28th Annual Scholarship Scramble Golf Tournament at the Rockdale Country Club.
The Rockdale Noon Lions Club will hold the tournament 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 and proceeds will go toward the Lions’ scholarship fund.
Entry fee is $65 per player (with a 72 player limit) and includes lunch, cart and 2 mulligans per player. The men’s and women’s scramble teams will be grouped by handicap.

CPRA rodeo in October
The Rockdale Fair Association will host the 8th annual CPRA Rodeo Oct. 19-20 during the Rockdale Fair.
Professional riders will compete in seven events: bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, team roping and barrel racing.
