THS’s Casey signs with TAMU-Kingsville Javs
In July, Thorndale High School senior Kate Casey signed her letter of intent to continue her softball career as a member of the Texas A&M University at Kings-ville Lady Javelinas following her graduation from THS in spring of 2020.
Casey was the starting first basewoman on Thorndale 2019 state finalist team and also bats fifth in their lineup.
Country Club slates championship golf
Rockdale Country Club is holding a championship golf tourney on Aug. 17-18.
The tournament will have four divisions with women, men under 65, men ages 65-71 and the super senior division for players older than 72 years of age.
Women, seniors and super seniors start with round one at 8 a.m., Saturday, and play round two starting at 9 a.m., Sunday. Men start round one Saturday at 9. Round two starts at 1 p.m., Sunday.
Registration cost $20 which includes three meals and a fish fry Saturday evening.
