RYBA registration closes Jan. 31
Deadline for registering for the 2019 Rockdale Youth Baseball Association is Thursday, Jan. 31.
Fees for players ages 3-14 are $90 and $65 for the recreational league. All fees are due Friday, Feb. 15.
Discounts are available for families with multiple children. Contact a board member for details.

Youth baseball chili event on Saturday
The 2019 Rockdale Youth Baseball Association Chili and Washer Tournament Fundraiser kicks off 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19 at The Ranch, 415 Hwy. 79 in Rock-dale.
Chili will be $8 per bowl until sold out. A Washer Tournament is set for noon and participants must be registered by 11:45 a.m. Entry fee is $20 per team.
There will be live music by Treble Soul and live and silent auctions, bingo and Deck-of-Cards Gun chance give-aways. Proceeds will go towards operating costs for 2019 RYBA.
Softball signups
on Saturday
Rockdale Girls Softball League sign up is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the RGSL Softball Complex.
Anyone interested in coaching this season should attend the meeting 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 at the Rockdale General Store.

Former Milano state champ places in 400
Tim Demeritt, a 2018 Milano High School graduate and class 2A state champion in the 400-meter run placed 25th overall as a Panther.
Demeritt placed second in his heat for Prairie View A&M University track and field team with a time of 51.06 at the Ted Nelson Invitational in College Station.
He was also a part of the Milano boy’s track team that won the UIL class 2A state track meet last spring.
