In last week’s Rockdale Reporter, Nygia Crawford was left out of the list of trainers who were honored at RHS Fall Sports Banquet and Aaliyah Nelson was misidentified.
RHS cheer squad competes in state
The Rockdale High School cheerleading team competed at the UIL Class 3A Spirit State Championship on Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Ft. Worth Convention Center.
“We didn’t advance past the pre-lims,” said Debra Neal. “But we brought lots of spirit and energy and we all had a great trip overall.”
This is the third year that Rockdale cheerleaders have done the competition that ranks cheer squads based on their band chant, fight song cheer and crowd leading.
RYBA registration closes January 31st
Deadline for registering for the 2019 Rockdale Youth Baseball Association is Thursday, Jan. 31.
Fees for players ages 3-14 are $90 and $65 for the recreational league. All fees are due Friday, Feb. 15.
Discounts are available for families with multiple children. Contact a board member for details.
There will be a coaches meeting on 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27 at the youth baseball field concessions.

Softball signups, coaches meeting
Rockdale Girls Softball League final signup is set for Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the RSGL Softball Complex.
A coaches meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 at the Rockdale General Store.
