7th Grade A Team
The 7th Grade A Team defeated the Lorena Leopards 8-0.
In the first quarter Mason Lillard connected with De’andre Nunn on a 60-yard touchdown pass. Brody Willard kicked the field goal to earn the two-point conversion. The defense was solid all game with Lillard recording two interceptions and Landon Deason recording a sack for a loss.
Offensive standouts included Camden Huff and Graham Gay.
Defensive standouts included Deason and Jesus Limas. The 7th grade team finished with a record of 4-1-1 on the season.
8th Grade A Team
The 8th Grade A Team fell to the Lorena Leopards 34-12.
In the first quarter, Tim Grice torched the Leopard defense on a 60-yard touchdown run.
Grice made his presence felt again in the second quarter on a 50-yard touchdown run.
Offensive standouts included David Penny and AJ Sandoval. Defensive standouts included Ezequiel Castro and Alex Mendoza.
The 8th grade team finished with a record of 2-5 overall.
Combined 7th-8th Grade B Team
The Combined 7th and 8th Grade B Team was defeated by the Lorena Leopards 24-0.
In the first quarter, the Tiger defense made a goal line stand after Lorena had a first-and-goal from the one-yard line.
In the second quarter, Marcus Avila (pictured above) connected with Cesar Rodriguez on back-to-back passes of 35 and 20 yards.
Offensive standouts included Avila and Chris Ruelas.
Defensive standouts included Isaac Carrizales and Jayden Prestridge.
The combined team finished with a record of 2-3 on the season.
Thorndale playoff game to be held Thursday at Rockdale’s Tiger Field
The Thorndale Bulldogs will face the 6-3 Jewett Leon Cougars in the Class 2A Division I Bi-District Round on Thursday at Rockdale’s Tiger Field.
