RHS soccer teams fall short in La Vega
Tiger soccer fell to Giddings 1-0 on Monday night. The Blue-and-Gold will face Caldwell at home on Saturday. Game time is 11 a.m.
The Lady Tigers also lost to Giddings, falling 14-1. Rockdale’s lone goal was scored by Addyson Smith with an assist by Marisa Hernandez.
RHS heads to La Grange on Thursday where they will play the Lady Leopards.
Blue-and-Gold tennis racks up awards
Rockdale tennis teams traveled back to Navasota on Tuesday, playing in the Rattler Invitational.
2021 regional qualifier Yolianna Castillo won gold in the girls singles division after going undefeated for the day and Mason Willard finished fourth in the boys singles division.
In boys doubles, Alejandro Rivera and Tra’on Crawford placed third while Brande Breithaupt and Elizabeth Perry bounced back after an opening round loss to a team from Lufkin Hudson to win the consolation bracket. Tyler Thomas and Katia Hernandez also made it to the finals match in the consolation bracket of the mixed doubles division.
Other competitors for Rockdale were Aaron Montelongo, Kobe Mitchell and Beth Montelongo.
Rockdale tennis is scheduled to play next in the Thrall tourney on Feb. 23.
Rockdale golfers tee off in Bryan tourney
RHS golfers competed in Bryan Tuesday where the Tigers placed third and the Lady Tigers finished fourth.
Jake Hasselbach led the Tigers with an 86. Other scores were Carson Eoff (99), Mason Meschwitz (101), A.J. Hicks (108) and Creek Windham (116).
Lady Tiger scores were: Brianna Bailey (113), Alyssa Talbott (119), Brandilyn Musto (124), Jacie Hartley (124) and Mollie Moody (125).
