RHS golf competes at Salado
Lady Tiger golfers traveled north on Monday to play at Mill Creek Country Club in Salado, where Brianna Bailey led the group, shooting a 121.
Molly Moody finished the day with 124 while Jacie Hartley and Alyssa Talbott ended Monday with a 137 and 142.
Tigers fall short at Troy, 7-2
Rockdale baseball returned to action on Monday evening in Bell County, where they lost 7-2 to perennial power Troy.
The Trojans got up early, scoring 2 runs in the first inning and another run in the second. The Tigers fought back to make it 3-2 with one run in both the second and third inning. THS scored one in the fourth and slipped away with three more runs in the fifth to win the game, 7-2.
Tyler Stewart led the Blue-and-Gold at the plate with two hits while Tra’on Craw ford, Cruz San Migel and Mason Willard had one each.
Willard struck out two in four innings and Mario Casarez struck out one in two innings pitched.
THS tennis players take silver at Plugerville-Weiss Tournament
Facing mostly 5A and 6A opponents, Thorndale High School students Alex Innocencio and Torben Lerch left Travis County with a silver medal last week after defeating teams from Class 5A Elgin, 8-1 and Waco’s University High School, 8-5 before falling to a team from Lockhart in the championship.
Other Bulldog and Lady Dog competitors were Maddox Rubio, Wylie Barrett, Chloe Grimm, Katie Briones, Layla Rodriguez, Saryn Peel, Stryker Leschber, Jessica Yount and Landin Ellington.
THS tennis players compete next on Friday at the Belton Tournament.
