THS football heads to Thrall for scrimmage
Thorndale Bulldog football kicked off their 2022 season on Friday, staying home to scrimmage with Jewett-Leon.
They hop on the bus for the first time this season when they head to Chilton on Thursday. The Pirates are currently ranked ninth in Class 2A-II by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine.
Scrimmaging begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs play their first regular season game on Friday, Aug. 26, against Lexington at Bulldog Stadium.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
MHS football heads to Thrall for scrimmage
Like Rockdale and Thorndale, the MHS football team also began scrimmag ing last week. The Eagles hosted Itasca at Pruitt Field last Friday.
The maroon-and-gold head west across the Milam County line on Thursday for their second and final scrimmage of the season against Thrall.
Scrimmaging begins at 6 p.m. for the junior varsity, with the varsity beginning their scrimmage right after.
The Eagles begin their non-district slate of games on Friday, Aug. 26, when they head to Waco to face Reicher Catholic School.
Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Rockdale cross country opens season at home
Blue-and- Gold cross country open their season at home on Friday, hosting the “Rockdale River Run” at Apache Pass.
The meet is similar to an obstacle course, with competitors running through the woods of the local park and the pushing through the muddy water of the San Gabriel River on the final stretch before the finish line.
