On Monday, five Tiger golfers traveled east to Navasota’s Pecan Lakes Golf Course to play in their first tournament of the season. While in Grimes County, RHS sophomore Mason Lillard placed fourth overall with a score of 79.
Other golfers competing for Rockdale were Monte Taylor and Stephen Goodrich, who ended the day with scores of 90 and 96. Zeb Skrhak and Landon Deason also competed, with scores of 100 and 116 to bring the team’s combined total to 365.
The Tigers hit the green next on Feb. 3, when they play at Bastrop’s Wolfdancer Golf Club.
The Lady Tiger golf team also played in Navasota on Wednesday after press time.
Lady Tiger soccer falls 1-0 to Mexia on the road
On Friday, the Lady Tigers traveled to Mexia, where they lost in a close match to the Lady Cats, 1-0.
RHS opened district play Tuesday af ter press time against Caldwell and hit the pitch next on Friday at Taylor High School. Match time is 5:15 p.m.
In Rockdale, the Tigers fell to Navasota 3-0 on Friday night. They began district against Caldwell Tuesday and head to Taylor Friday for a 7:15 p.m. start.
