Trotter attending NFL draft as guest of Irvin
Rockdale’s Darien Trotter has been selected to attend the 2018 NFL draft at AT&T Stadium April 26 as a special guest of Michael Irving.
Trotter is a seventh grade “A” honor roll student, and district champion in the shot put at Rockdale Junior High School.
He has received this honor, along with nine other boys from different parts of Texas, due to his participation in Michael Irving’s Playmakers Football Academy he attended last year.
Blanchard named player of the week
BROWNWOOD—Howard Payne University freshman and Rockdale graduate Erin Blanchard led the Lady Jackets to a 2-0 week with wins 7-2 over Mary Hardin-Baylor and 5-4 over Concordia and was named the American Southwest Conference player of the week.
Blanchard was 2-0 in number three singles and 2-0 in number one doubles, partnering with Chesney Goza.
Her three-set victory versus CTX clinched the 5-4 win and an ASC Championship Tournament spot for Howard Payne.
