On Friday evening, the K.C. Hall will host the first ever Rockdale-Cameron sportsmanship banquet.
According to Milam County Judge Steve Young, the banquet is an opportunity between the two neighboring communities.
The banquet will have former Texas A&M coach R.C. Slocum as the keynote speaker. Slocum will talk about sportsmanship and how he handled the Texas and A&M rivalry while coach of the Aggies.
Houston lawyer and Cameron native, Wayne Fisher, will also speak at the event about the importance of economic growth to a community.
MEET THE TIGERS-
Rockdale High School football players will auction off cakes and desserts this Monday, 7p.m., at the RHS gym for the Meet the Tigers social and cake auction.
The annual event is put on by the Rockdale Tiger Booster Club to help raise money for the RISD athletic program.
John Fisher is booked to be the auctioneer and the RHS Big Blue Band will also perform the “Tiger Fight Song” and “Exodus”. The social will also introduce members of the Rockdale volleyball and cross country teams. Cheerleaders and Golden Girls will also be introduced as well as perform.
