The Rockdale Scrappers softball team plowed through the competition on their way to a district title in the Texas Teen-Age Softball Association (TTASA) 15-and-Under Division. In four games, they beat Gatesville, Cameron and Thorndale (twice) by a combined score of 53-6.
Coach Jim Eanes loves the balance of the Scrappers. They have quality pitching and hitting, supported by strong defense.
“I couldn’t be prouder on the progress they have made this season,” he said. “It’s exactly what you want as a coach.”
A fundraiser for the Scrappers will be Thursday, June 29, at the Rockdale Pizza Hut from 5 p.m. until close. Mention the Scrappers fundraiser when ordering. All funds will help offset the cost of the state tournament in Corsicana.
Pizza Hut will share the profit from all sales.
