Black bass are fair on topwaters and crankbaits fished in shallow water.

Crappie are good on jigs fished over cover in 4-12 feet of water.

White bass are fair along roadbeds with many small undersized fish.

Blue catfish are good on jug lines baited with shad.

Yellow catfish are good on live bait.

Somerville

FAIR. Water normal stain; 83 degrees; 0.20 feet below pool.

At Somerville Marina, the crappie bite is slow, bluegill and catfish are fair.

Crappie are fair over brush in 8-16 feet of water with jigs and minnows.

Catfish are fair in 3-10 feet using cut shad or punch bait.

White bass are slow trolling with various spoons or anchored with shad and ghost minnows.

Hybrids are slow in deeper water, afternoon bite better, if you locate them, using cut bait.

Stillhouse Hollow

SLOW. Water stained; 80 degrees; 0.81 feet above pool.

Consistent local bass tournament anglers report that bass are grouped on isolated cover, and having success in short windows under low light conditions right before sunrise and right after sunset.

Cedar Gap Park remains closed; Rivers Bend courtesy dock is not usable. Union Grove, Dana Peak and Stillhouse Park’s ramps and docks are in good shape.

Belton

EXCELLENT. Water stained; 81 degrees; 1.01 feet below pool.

Fishing for white bass improved drastically with fish now as deep as 47 feet.

Numbers of fish can be caught on the MAL Original with chartreuse tail worked by dropping it to the bottom and cranking fast enough to get, and keep, the spinner going about six cranks off bottom, then repeating.

Shallow fish are also showing up shallow in under 17 feet of water at dawn and dusk, but the bite is very short. Use downriggers to cover lots of ground quickly to chase these fast-moving fish using 3-armed umbrella rigs with #13 Pet Spoons in chrome with white feathers.

Flathead catfish have been caught in shallow water around rock piles with live bait.
