ROCKDALE— The Bulldogs were red hot coming into Rockdale last week and beat the hometown Tigers 60-38.
This is a well-oiled machine, they play as a team and are well coached by Head Coach Michael Williams. It’s very hard not to be impressed.
Standout players in the road win against the Tigers were Kaden Kovar who had 14 points and Jacob Jackson who put 13 on the scoreboard.
DODD CITY TOURNEY—
Bulldogs were 3-0 before going into the Dodd City Tournament over the weekend. They finished third in Dodd City with victories over Dodd City, 70-58; Martinsville, 48-37; and Bells, 57-48. Their only loss came against No. 20 in the state in 2A, Nocona, and the final of that game was 53-43.
Kaden Kovar was named to the All-Tournament team. He made 21 three-point shots in four games.
Other key players were Braden Pickel, Kale Meadors and Jayden Clawson.
COMING UP— The Bulldogs go into this week at 6-1 and have games against Lampasas on the road before coming home and hosting their own tournament.
Lady Bulldogs
The Lady Dogs went 1-3 in the Head Girls Basketball Coach Doug Moody Tournament.
Franklin shared, “This was a good tournament for us. We saw a lot of different defensive looks and styles of play that will help us as we enter district play.”
“Emily Reeves was a standout player in this tournament,” he added. “She did a great job, rebounding, on defense and played hard.”
