The Bulldogs fought a hard battle on Friday but came up short against the Holland Hornets 26-21. The Bulldogs are now 3-2 on the season.
“It was a well-fought game between two rivals,” THS Head Coach John Kovar said. “The game was physical and it went down to the wire. We just made too many errors in the end.”
Holland got on the board first as quarterback Ayden Tomasek scored a touchdown on a five-yard run. The extra point was missed to make the score 6-0 after one quarter.
In the second quarter, the Bulldog offense found their rhythm with quarterback Coy Stutts dialing up a 19-yard touchdown pass to Cayden Nicholson. The two-point conversion failed.
The Bulldog would find the end zone again as Cain Brymer scored on a threeyard run.
Holland responded with Caleb Evans catching a 29-yard touchdown pass from Tomasek to end the quarter.

In the third quarter, Holland’s Bryce Bowling would score on a 10-yard run to take the lead.
Both teams traded scores in the fourth quarter. Nicholas would snag another touchdown on a 15-yard pass from Stutts.
The Hornets offense wouldn’t be denied as Tomasek scored his third touchdown of the day on a seven-yard run to end the game.
Stutts went 15 of 30 for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Brymer led the Bulldogs in rushing with 27 yards, while Stryker Leschber led the team in receiving with five catches for 46 yards.
The Bulldogs two turnovers came back to haunt them in the end.
After the loss, Kovar discussed how the team needs to improve in certain areas.
“We need to sure up our special teams play,” Kovar said. “We also have to learn how to take a bad play and not try to force things. Overall, we just need to clean some things up.”
The Bulldogs will look to return to their winning ways as they face off against the Rosebud-Lott Cougars on Friday at home.
