THRALL—Thorndale hit the road for the first game of the season. They played rival and neighbor Thrall and lost a game that was much closer than its score shows. The final was Thrall 50, Thorndale 29.

Thorndale scored three times in the first quarter. Once on a safety and then twice on Noah Crabtree runs of two yards and three yards. The Bulldogs failed on one of their two extra point kicks. Thrall scored once and after the first quarter the score was Thorndale 15, Thrall 8.

The second quarter was for the most part owned by Thrall. The Tigers scored three times while the Bulldogs only got into the end zone once on a Crabtree two yard run. The score at halftime was Thrall 29, Thorndale 22.

Thrall continued to play strong defensively and kept Thorndale out of the end zone the entire third quarter. The Tigers scored one touchdown making it 36, 22 after three.

The Bulldogs just could not make up any ground in the second half, the game had clearly gotten away from them. They did score one more time in the fourth. Quarterback Gunner Ferguson connected with Jaxson Eschberger for 27 yards but they gave up two more scores to Thrall making the final score 50 - 29.

THIS WEEK— Thorndale will host Granger at 7 p.m. Friday. The Lions lost last week against Johnson City 34-22.
