Several members of the Thorndale Bulldogs football team were named to the 2A District 13 All-District teams.

Quarterback Coy Stutts was the top Bulldog award winner as he was named the Co-Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

Cayden Nicholson, Styker Leschber, Maddox Rubio and Hayden Kylberg were named to the all-district first team on Thursday.

Mason Lindig, Cain Brymer, Mike Reyes and Chance Betak were named second team all-district.

John Alcar, Lindig, Alvin Theis, Aiden McCrae, Branson McCoy, Brenton Wilhite, Jake Ivy, Tyler Turman, Kylberg and Raymond Avalos were given honorable mentions.

Alcar, Brymer, Lindig, Stutts, Betak, Hunter Thigpen, Nolan Ray, Nicholson, Colton Merryman, Riggs Schneider, McCrae, Leschber, Ivy, Kylberg, Kaleb Yount, Deven Muston and McCoy were all selected to the Academic All-District team.

“I thought overall we were represented pretty well on the all-district teams,” THS head coach John Kovar said. “Every year as a coach you feel that a kid could have been honored on first team or second team that did not make it. That happened to some, but overall we made out pretty well.”

The Bulldogs finished with a record of 6-4 on the season and 4-2 in district play.

They qualified for the 2A playoffs this season making it the fourth year in the row for Thorndale.
