HOLLAND—Jack Herzog broke a Thorndale High School pole vault record (set back in 1996) at the Lexington Eagle Relays in late March with a vault of 14’7”. He then went on to win district and the area meets last week by vaulting a winning height of 14’6”, beating the competition by a whopping 3-1/2 feet.

Though Thorndale’s Carson McCoy was a little off from his school record time of 10.62 the prior week in the 100-meter dash, he was still good enough to get the win at the area meet and was closely followed by teammate Everton White in second place.

McCoy also took second place in the 200-meter dash.

With speedsters like McCoy, White, Jayden Clawson and Devon Cuba, it is no surprise that Bulldog sprinters also got a second- place finish in the 4x200 relay.

McCoy’s record performance at the District 27-AA Championships standing old record which bested the long-standwas set 33 years ago.

Shot putter Kaleb Yount also got a top three finish at the area meet for Thorndale.

Overall the Bulldog boys’ team took second place at the district meet and third last week in Holland.
