The Thorndale Bulldogs went 3-0 last week.
BARTLETT— They started their week with a 7-1 win against Bartlett. Jackson Eschberger was the winning pitcher. Eschberger went six innings, gave up four hits and had 16 Ks.
Other notable players were Lance Pesl, who had two doubles, scored a run and two RBIs; Jayden Clawson, who had a two-run triple; and Gunner Ferguson had two singles, a triple and scored a run.
THRALL— Later in the week the Bulldogs beat the team that has given them their only loss this season, the Thrall Tigers. Thorndale won 5-1 and moved into first place in district.
Key players in the win were: Lance Pesl who had a single, a walk, scored twice and had an RBI; Gunner Ferguson, who was the winning pitcher, threw seven innings, gave up three hits and had eight Ks; and Rowdy Casner, who hit two singles and scored twice.
CHILTON— Finally Thorndale shutout Chilton 14-0.
Lance Pesl was the winning pitcher. Pesl threw four innings, gave up two hits, had no runs scored against him and had five strikeouts.
COMING UP— This week the Bulldogs were to travel to Milano on Tuesday, then return home to face Granger at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Lady Dogs
The Thorndale Lady Dogs are still generating wins and zero losses. Last week they took down both Bartlett and Thrall.
They won a close one against rival Thrall, 5-4, and they made it look easy against Bartlett, winning 12-2.
COMING UP— The Lady Dogs were to play the Eagles in Milano on Tuesday and host Granger at 2 p.m. Saturday. The last game of the regular season is April 16 in Travis against Rosebud-Lott.
