The Thorndale Bulldogs invited the undefeated in district play Holland Hornets into their gym last week and sent them home with their first district loss of the year. The final was 54-35.

Key players in this home court victory were Kaden Kovar who put up 21 points, Kale Meadors had 14 points and Braden Pickel had ten for the night.

The Bulldogs then took their winning hard court show to Hearne to take on the struggling Eagles who have only one win in district play so far this year. Thorndale overpowered these low flying Eagles by a score of 46-34.

Standouts for this game were Kaden Kovar and Kale Meadors who each gave the Bulldogs 16 points.

COMING UP— The Bulldogs were to travel to Milano on Tuesday to face an Eagle team without any district wins and only one win for the season. On Friday, the Bulldogs may have their paws full when the one-district- loss Thrall Tigers come to town. This game starts at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Dogs

The Thorndale Lady Dogs traveled to Hearne last week to take on the Eagles and they came home to Milam County with another win. The final was Thorndale 39, Hearne 24.

Bethany Preusse led the team scoring 12 points, followed by Emily Reeves with seven and Jacie Leho contributed six on the night. “We controlled the boards tonight,” said Lady Dogs Head Coach Doug Franklin. “We had some trouble handling the ball. There were too many turnovers but we have shown improvement in our decision making. A lot of our points were executing set plays efficiently and running the floor for easy points.”

COMING UP— The Lady Dogs are now 3-3 in district play and were to travel to neighboring Milano Tuesday to take on the Lady Eagles. Milano is 5-1 in district play.

On Friday, the undefeated Thrall Tigers will come to town. Game time is 6 p.m.
