The Thorndale JV football team defeated Santo Wildcats (6-2A-II) with their running game on Thursday at Meridian by a final score of 44-0.
“It was an overall team effort on both sides of the ball with everyone making big contributions,” said Coach Kelly Kuhl.
Branson McCoy scored early in the first quarter on a 12-yard run and Cain Brymer brought in the conversion to start the game at 8-0. Three minutes later Mason Lindig scored on a 33-yard run and Jordin Morestatter made the conversion from a Kyle Northcott pass, 16-0.
In the second quarter, Carter Brymer had a 10-yard run for a touchdown and the conversion failed for 22-0 score. Morestatter intercepted a pass from the Wildcats quarterback for a touchdown.
Both teams went scoreless in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs scored four times in the final quarter of the game starting with
Stryker Leschber 11-yard run and a failed conversion, 28-0.
Makai Mitchell scored next on a 7–yard run with a Leschber conversion bumping the score up to 36-0. Next, Tyler Huf scored on a fumble recovery.
With 50 seconds left in the game, Carter Brymer made a 42-yard run for six points and Chance Betak made the conversion to end the game at 44-0.
