The Thorndale Bulldogs competed in the Regional Powerlifting Meet in Navasota last week.
Lifter Deven Cuba placed first in the 275-pound weight class and was a regional record breaker with a squat of 670 pounds and a bench of 450 pounds.
Marcus Shaw placed second in the 165-pound weight class.
Both will now compete in the state competition later this month.
