Thorndale Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs cross country teams ran at the Gates-ville meet Thursday, Sept.
13. Running in the 1A-4A races, the teams competed against larger schools such as Lampasas, Waco-Conally, China Spring, and Bur-net.
In the varsity boy’s race, seven Bulldog runners placed at the meet. They were: 30. Mason Drumm 20:09.2; 71. Evan Ivy 21:42.3; 88. Trayle Schroeder 22:43.9; 94. Scott Widner 23:24.5; 97. Ethan Williamson 23:54.4; 100. Jake Ivy 24:30.1 and 102. Jason Penick 25:20.8.
In the varsity girl’s race, three Lady Bulldogs placed in the top 100 runners. They were: 42. Ashton Kiesling 15:04.6; 84. Taije Schroeder 16:24.3; 86. Savana Taylor 16:25.9.
Thorndale also had two junior varsity runners place in the meet. In the boy’s race, freshman 30. Ty Pesl 22:21.8 and in the girl’s race, freshman 106. Sandra Perez 21:03.2.
The Thorndale runners will compete next in the Salado Tenroc Cross Country Invitational Thursday, Sept. 20. The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs have one more meet in Thorndale on Wednesday, Oct. 3, before competing for district in Gause on Monday, Oct. 8.
