On Monday, it was officially announced that Tiger powerlifters Gavin Aguilar, Bryce Flowers and Kevin Liu qualified for the Boys Region III meet on March 13 in Smithville. All three boys finished the regular season as one of the top 12 lifters in their respective division.
Flowers went through the entire season without ever losing a meet and is coming into the regional ranked fourth in the 148-pound division.
Liu will arrive in Smithville as the fifth ranked lifter in the 132-pound weight class. Aguilar is also ranked fifth in the 242 class.
LADY TIGERS—Seven Rockdale High School girls head to Dublin Friday to compete in their regional meet.
For Mackenzie Musto and Jesenia Navarro, this is the fourth and third consecutive regional they’ve advanced to.
This will be the first time Jena Locklin, Mercades Ramirez, Lisbett Boussart, Alyssa Grady and Alondra Rubio get to compete at regionals
If any of them advance to state, they will get the chance to lift for a title at the Extraco Events Center in Waco March 19-20.
THORNDALE—Qualifiers for THS are Jason Penick, Raymond Avalos, Luke Merz, Hayden Kylberg and Kaleb Yount.
They lift on Saturday, March 13, in West.
