Thorndale Bulldog football played in their final scrimmage this past Thursday, when they traveled to Jewett-Leon to practice with the Cougars.

THS moves on to the regular season, making their debut on Friday against Class 3A-II Lexington at Bulldog Stadium.

The Eagles, who are ranked 16th by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine in the classification above Thorndale, will likely be a good first for the Bulldogs.

LHS is also picked to win District 13-3A-II and has seven players returning on defense and eight returning on offense. One of those eight returning on offense is wide receiver Daylon Washington, who won gold and silver at the state track meet this past spring in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.

Game time between the two area schools is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Thorndale High School senior Clason Beasley makes his way down the field during his team’s rivalry game with Thrall last season. Beasley is expected to be a big part of the Bulldog offense this fall.
