The Thorndale Lady Bulldog softball team proved that they were a dominant team not only on the field, but in the classroom as well. Out of the 18 players on the roster, 13 were named to the Academic-All District Team by the Texas High School Coaches Association.
These players included: Riley White, Rainey Buchanan, Jayci Martinka, Kate Casey, Landri Leschber, Kelsey Kovar, Bailee Baker, Emilee Baker, Reagyn Trahan, Raeghan Carlson, Natalie Garcia, Landri Martinka and Kyndal Robinson. THS Softball Head Coach Lance Betak explained how proud of he was of his team’s hard work and effort.
“Many coaches worry about if a player will pass or fail, luckily I never had to worry about of them in the classroom,” said Head Coach Lance Betak. “These girls were committed on and off the field and I am proud of the work they put in”
The Lady Bulldogs were looking to make a run back to the state championship before the UIL ended their season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They finished their season with a 12-4 record.
