Following two weeks of play, first at the Campus Course in College Station last Monday and last at Temple Wildflower Country Club this past Monday, the Rockdale Tiger golf team has qualified for the regional tournament in Brenham on Monday, April 19, and Tuesday, April 20, after finishing as the district runner-up behind Cameron
Wildflower is a course that coach Ethan Noel has said in the past was tough.
“Over there you can find yourself in a bad spot even after shooting a good shot,” Noel said in 2019.
The team was led by senior Brayden Burns, who took home a bronze medal with an 87-98-185.
Other members of the regional qualifying team were Jake Hasselbach (88- 111-199), Monte Taylor (102-111-213), A.J. Hicks (113-133-246), Carson Eoff (120-124-244), and Creek Windham (128-133-161).
Mason Meschwitz and Ryan Luckey also competed in the junior varsity tournament on Monday, shooting a 137 and 151 respectively.
LADY TIGERS— Freshman Alyssa Talbott was the lone Lady Tiger competitor. Talbott shot a 144 last week and a 143 Monday.
