Rockdale’s j unior varsity football game with Caldzell came dozn to the final quarter with the Tigers losing 14-6 in their second game of the season.

RHS lost a fumble on their first series eut jot the ball back after stopping Caldwell from scoring.

On their next drive, Rockdale was forced to punt. The Tigers made a bad snap but quarterback Robert Owens was able to get the ball out of the end }one for a first dozn.

Owens also made a 30-yard interception return later in the quarter but CHS took a 6-0 lead in the second after scoring on a 20-yard touchdown pass.

The Tigers tied the game in the fourth when Creek Windham threw a one-yard pass to Owens. The point-after-touchdown was no good.

Caldwell scored later in the fourth on a five-yard run. The Hornets also made the two-point conversion with the game winning score 14-6.

Owens, Lane Rickman, Angel Lopez and Tucker Prestridge were the offensive standouts. Owens, Lane Bell, Jose Castillo, Guillermo Pantaleon and Za’Kori Yanes were the standouts on defense.

FRESHMEN— Prior to the j unior varsity, the Rock-dale freshmen team fell to the Hornets 30-8 on Thursday afternoon in Caldwell.

CHS took an early 30-0 lead at halftime. The Tigers scored in the final quarter when a 60-yard kickoff return by Tristan Galvan led to a two-yard touchdown run by Alec Silva to make the game 30-6.

Standouts were defensive end Eddie Klekar, noseguard Austin Goodman and defensive end Fernando Ramirez.

THIS W EEK— Due to Lexington not having a freshmen team, the j unior varsity will play their home opener against Lexington at 6p.m., instead of their usual 6:30. The freshmen team will play A&M Consolidated in College Station at 5.

O THER CHA NG ES— Rockdale freshmen team has also scheduled a game on Thursday, Sept. 26, in Dripping Springs against DSHS at 5 p.m.
