Rockdale hosted the district track meet last week and both Tigers and Lady Tigers had success on the track and in the field.
The junior varsity girls team took second place overall and Lady Tigers T’Niyah Miles, Jernee’ Mitchell, Trinity Hurd and Milagros Cervantes qualifi ed for the area meet.
Tigers advancing to area are Jesse Montelongo, Jonathan Fuller, De’Andre Stephens, Aaron Ponniaya, Austin Caldwell and multiple relay teams that include Pena, Sheppard, Gerren, Stephens, Henderson and Montelongo.
The area meet is on April 9 in Fairfield.
Currently De’Andre Stephens is tied for fourth best in the state in high jump and 10th best in triple jump.
Rockdale’s mile relay team has the eighth best time in the state.

• Danielle Bocanegra, third place, 800m, fifth in 1600m.
• Kiara Gomez, third place, 3200m.
• Kaylee Wagner, third, 100m.
• Chanel Benson, first place, triple jump and second place in the long jump.
JV boys
• Ayden Evans, first place 800m, third place in the 1600m.
• Emiliano Tovar, second place, 400m.
• Charles Murphy, third place, high jump.
• 4x400 relay team of Henderson, Davenport, Watts, Tovar, second place.
• 4x200 relay team of Wilson, O’Bryant, Henderson, O’Bryant, third place.
