TIGERS BASKETBALL

The Tigers lost their first game of this season last week on the road against Bastrop. The final score was Bastrop 60, Rockdale 44.

The Tigers were led by Reagan Jackson who had 17 rebounds and scored six points, De’Andre Stephens had 13 points and Ace Taylor put 11 points on the scoreboard.

The JV squad lost 56-14. The varsity Tigers were 6-23 overall last year and 2-12 in district play. This will be a young team with only four varsity ballers returning from last year and only two seniors.

There has been a playof f drought for our Tiger basketball team and we look forward to some playoff rain this season under second year Coach Sean Lexima.

There are 40 kids in this program and Coach Lexima said, “We were in a lot of games last year and our JV was good. We are really excited about this year. We are in a tough district and we will be playing against a lot of good, well coached teams but the playoffs look like a possibility.”

Coach Lexima has a fresh optimism that is contagious and we look forward to his impact on Tiger Basketball. Let’s go Tigers!
