The men’s Tiger varsity basketball team is getting off to a slow start with a 0-3 record. Head Coach Sean Lexima however has just recently gotten his full roster since football season came to a close.

You can see a nucleus coming together under the leadership of the second- year coach and ballers like Alex Cooper, Ace Taylor, Reaghan Jackson, De’Andre Stephens, Erik Sheppard, Brody Willard and Mason Willard are starting to shine.

BASTROP— Both the JV and varsity teams lost against Bastrop on the road recently. The varsity lost 60-44.

Players that stood out in this game were junior Reaghan Jackson who had 17 rebounds, contributed six points, had two steals and two blocks.

Also junior Ace Taylor scored 11 points, had 4 rebounds and one steal. The JV lost in their contest as well against Bastrop.

ROSEBUD-LOTT— The Tiger varsity then played at home against the Rosebud- Lott Cougars. The Blue and Gold played hard, made a huge comeback in this hard court contest and barely came up short in this loss.

The final was Cougars 51, Tigers 49.

Top Tiger players in this game were junior Reaghan Jackson with 12 rebounds, four points, six deflections, five steals and one block. Also junior Eric Sheppard had 10 points, five rebounds and one steal.

Other Tigers that stood out were sophomore De’Andre Stephens who had 10 points, seven rebounds, five steals and seven deflections. Also Bryson O’Bryant had 10 points, four rebounds and two steals.

LAGO VISTA— On Saturday the Tigers hosted the Lago Vista Vikings. This game was very lopsided and the Tigers lost to a good basketball team. The final score was Vikings 66, Tigers 39.

The JV lost 30-27. Leading the JV in scoring were Charles Murphy with eight points, Jeremiah Watts with six points and Alan Hernandez with seven points.

COMING UP— The Tigers have games coming up against Bartlett, Hearne and Thorndale. The next real opportunity to see these Tigers is Tuesday, Nov. 28, here in Tiger Gym against our Milam County neighbors the Thorndale Bulldogs. Freshman will play at 3 p.m., JV at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6:30 p.m.
