Rockdale High School sustained its first loss to a fast-paced Caldwell on the road 65-48.

Both teams struggled to make shots with the Hornets leading 6-2 halfway through the opening quarter.

The floodgates opened when CHS outscored Rock-dale 16-6 to take a 22-8 going into the second.

The two were even for the rest of the game with the Hornets only outscoring RHS by four points

But the Tigers couldn’t make up for Caldwell’s early surge.

Senior Mekhi Crawford and Junior Jace Robinson led the Tigers with 10 and eight points.

Unlike last year’s Tiger team that only had two football players hooping, six of Rockdale’s 11 players on Friday were just one week removed from playing in the bi-district playoff game against Grandview a week before.

COMING UP–The Tigers played host to Milano on Tuesday after press-time.

They play next in a home game with Schulenburg.

Jump ball is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The freshman game is scheduled for 5, and the junior varsity will start at 6:15.

The Tigers open tournament play the following weekend down the road in Lexington Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 5-7.

Game times will be listed in next week’s edition of The Reporter.
