While many were getting ready for New Year’s Eve parties or coming up with diets for their resolutions, Tiger soccer took down Robinson 2-1 to get their first victory of the season.
RHS senior Marvin Mata and freshman Daniel Castillo scored the team’s two goals. The win comes after scrimmages with Florence, Navasota and the RHS alumni team in earlier weeks.
THIS WEEK—T h e Tigers traveled to China Spring on Tuesday after press time and make the long trek east to Madisonville Thursday and Friday for their first tournament of the season. The boys return home on Tuesday, Jan. 11 to face Jarrell. Play starts at 7 p.m.
LADY TIGERS—The girls’ squad fell to Robinson 9-0, a team that went two rounds deep in the 2021 post-season.
