Over the weekend, Rockdale’s baseball team picked up three wins, with 9-1 and 6-4 victories over Waco’s Texas Wind and Bryan’s Brazos Christian School on Thursday and a 8-2 dub over Jewett-Leon Friday.
The Tigers’ only loss was to Mumford 10-3 following the Leon game.
Rockdale has one more week of tournament play when they co-host the Highway 79 Tournament with Thorndale this weekend.
The Blue-and-Gold are scheduled to face Holland this morning at 9 a.m. On Friday, they meet up with former district foe Troy at 11:30 a.m., and look to beat Brazos Christian again later in the day at 2 p.m. Saturday’s game times are dependent on Thursday and Friday results.
LADY TIGERS—After having a successful run in Jarrell last weekend, the Lady Tigers struggled at the Taylor Tournament with losses to Moody, Ellison, Gateway, Taylor and Granger, who had beaten topranked Thrall earlier.
The Lady Tigers did beat Navarro for the second straight weekend, taking down the Austin team 9-3.
RHS had hits from Lizzie Zinn, Mariana Casarez and Emma Whitsel. Haven Jimenez got the win with six strikeouts and allowed only one hit.
THIS WEEK—T he y began district with Cameron on Tuesday and travel to Lexington on Friday for a 6 p.m. start.
